Sources of inspiration: Pain in my shoulder; The Egoscue Method by Pete Egoscue
I’ve been feeling some soreness in my left shoulder for the past few days. So I picked up my copy of The Egoscue Method and started doing some of the shoulder exercises in it.
The book’s premise is that much of the chronic pain we experience these days comes from lack of motion and and the structural misalignments that come from that lack of motion. (I love this as a metaphor for goals and personal growth, too.)
Today it hit me just how little I move my body in the course of a normal work day. Most of the day is spent sitting in front of the computer. It is a simple fix that doesn’t require much more than awareness of the problem. I can take breaks as often as I’d like to move my body and do these exercises.
This will be an ongoing practice, not just something for today.
Thanks for your support of the Egoscue Method. We encourage your continued success. If we can be of any assisatnce to you please let us know.
